Work pattern: Rotating rostered shifts between 8:30 am and 7:30 pm

About the role

The successful applicants will collect, transport and deliver goods safely and on time. They will maintain accurate delivery records, care for the assigned vehicle and provide professional service to customers.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Collect, load, transport and deliver goods safely and within scheduled timeframes.

  • Check delivery instructions, addresses, customer orders and assigned routes before departure.

  • Plan efficient delivery routes and adjust them when operational needs change.

  • Load, secure and unload goods carefully to prevent loss or damage.

  • Verify goods against invoices, delivery dockets and customer orders.

  • Obtain signatures or electronic confirmation as proof of delivery.

  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, mileage and incidents.

  • Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch staff and management.

  • Collect payments or delivery documentation when required.

  • Complete routine vehicle safety checks and promptly report faults, damage or maintenance needs.

  • Keep the assigned vehicle clean, secure and in good working condition.

  • Follow New Zealand road rules, workplace health and safety requirements and company procedures.

  • Complete other reasonable delivery and operational duties associated with the position.

Minimum skills and experience

Applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements:

  • At least one year of relevant delivery driving, courier or similar work experience.

  • A qualification at Level 3 or above, or an equivalent overseas qualification.

Applicants must also:

  • Hold a current and valid driver licence or a valid full overseas driver licence appropriate.

  • Have regular access to a compatible smartphone with mobile-data access and be able to use the required delivery app for assignments, pickups, drop-offs and delivery updates.

  • Demonstrate a safe and responsible approach to driving.

  • Be physically capable of safely loading and unloading delivery items.

  • Be reliable, punctual and able to work independently.

  • Have good communication, customer-service and time-management skills.

  • Be able to read delivery instructions, addresses and safety information in English.

  • Be available for rotating rostered shifts between 8:30 am and 7:30 pm.
