​​Job Description

  • Measure areas, review plans, and estimate the quantities of flooring materials required.
  • Prepare floor surfaces for installation, including removing baseboard trims.
  • Measure, cut, and install underlay materials.
  • Lay floor coverings such as carpet, vinyl, linoleum, parquetry, cork tiles, and other resilient materials, ensuring proper pattern matching, shaping around fixtures, and trimming edges.
  • Secure coverings and fit edge trims at doorways.
  • Sand, stain, and apply finishing or protective coatings to timber floors.
  • Mix and apply resin-based flooring systems.
  • Polish concrete floors as required.
  • Install coverings on walls, ceilings, counters, and benches where applicable.
  • Install, repair, and maintain a variety of floor coverings including carpet, timber, vinyl, resin, and concrete; registration or licensing may be required.
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the employer.

  • Location: Waikato
  • Job type: Full-time Permanent
  • Pay rate: 25.00 – 35.00 New Zealand dollars per hour
  • Days required: 5 days per week (rostered shifts may apply)
  • Hours per week: Minimum of 30 hours per week

Job Requirement

  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, or a relevant NZ Level 4 qualification (or equivalent overseas qualification), or a bachelor degree in any discipline is required.
