Columbia Bakery in Mangere currently look for two hardworking and reliable Bakers to join our team. Working hours is between 35 and 40 hours per week. Pay rate ranges from $28 to $32 per hour.  

Suitable candidates must have the following skills and attributes:

  • Minimum 2 years (preferable 3 years) of work experience as baker or similar roles.

  • Available to start work at 3.30am; available to work weekends and public holidays. 

  • Physically fit and capable of performing tasks requiring physical strength, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment.

  • Have strong multitasking and organizational skills.

  • A good team player who can work cooperatively with other team members.

  • Reliable, punctual, and responsible, with a positive attitude towards work.

Your duties will include:

  • Producing fresh breads, buns and doughs.

  • Producing fresh pies and other pastries.

  • Producing fresh sweets such as sponges, cakes and cookies.

  • Managing presentation and decoration of baked goods.

  • Monitoring baking ovens.

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of equipment and workspace.

  • Ensuring workplace safety in managing self and others.

  • Assessing and improving any products when seen fit to do so.

  • Liaising with manager on any concerns or suggestions.

  • Performing any other related duties.
