We are seeking a caring, reliable, and respectful Home Care Support Worker to provide one-on-one support to an adult client living independently in Oamaru.
This rewarding role combines personal care assistance, mobility support, transport, exercise support, and helping maintain independence and quality of life.
About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with morning personal care and grooming routines
- Supporting showering, dressing, and personal hygiene
- Assisting with prescribed hand and mobility exercises
- Providing transport to swimming and exercise activities
- Supporting community participation and wellbeing
- Light household tasks associated with client care
- Promoting dignity, independence, and personal choice at all times
The role includes regular morning support, weekly swimming sessions, and exercise outings.
We are Looking For
You will be:
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable
- Comfortable providing personal cares
- Physically fit and able to assist with mobility support
- Reliable and punctual
- Able to work independently and build positive relationships
- Respectful of privacy and confidentiality
Essential Requirements
- Full NZ Driver Licence and reliable vehicle
- Ability to pass police and reference checks
- Right to work in New Zealand
- Positive and caring attitude with a genuine desire to support and assist others
- Previous caregiving, disability support, healthcare, or community support experience preferred

Approximately:
- Daily morning support
- Weekly swimming support session
- Two weekly exercise support sessions
