Our company is seeking an experienced and reliable Painter to join our team.

Position details

• Location: Auckland
• Employment type: Permanent, full-time
• Guaranteed hours: 30 hours per week
• Pay rate: $30 to $35 per hour
• Working days: Monday to Sunday
• Start date: As soon as possible

Key responsibilities

• Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping and filling holes
• Removing old paint, wallpaper and other existing finishes
• Mixing and matching paints to achieve the required colour and finish
• Applying primers, undercoats, paints, varnishes and stains
• Applying paint using brushes, rollers and spray-painting equipment
• Measuring areas and estimating the materials required
• Protecting floors, windows, furniture and surrounding areas
• Erecting and working safely from ladders and scaffolding
• Inspecting completed work and correcting any defects
• Cleaning and maintaining painting tools and equipment
• Following plans, specifications and clients’ instructions
• Completing residential and commercial painting projects
• Complying with workplace health and safety requirements
• Performing other related duties as reasonably required

Candidate requirements

• 2 years of work experience
• Knowledge of painting tools, materials and surface-preparation methods
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to work on weekends and public holidays
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Physically fit and able to undertake manual work
• Reliable, punctual and professional
• Willingness to travel to different work locations
