Carpenter

NZ Recruitment is looking for a skilled Carpenter to join our team in Timaru, Canterbury, New Zealand. Key Responsibilities

• Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project specifications.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials using hand and power tools.
• Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to complete projects on time.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a carpenter, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• Knowledge of woodworking techniques and materials, including framing and finishing.
• Ability to operate various hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good physical condition and stamina, capable of lifting heavy materials and working on-site.

Tools & Equipment

• Hand tools: chisels, hammers, saws, and measuring tapes.
• Power tools: drills, nail guns, and circular saws.
• Safety equipment: hard hats, gloves, and eye protection.
• Software: basic familiarity with design software for project planning.
• Transportation: reliable vehicle for commuting to job sites.

Salary Information

The hourly wage for this position is set at $22, providing a competitive rate for skilled carpentry work.
