Warehouse Assistant

We are looking for two Warehouse assistants to join our busy operation at the Palmerston North branch.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

•  Picking, packing, and despatching orders
• Working in the chillers and frozen food environment
• Filling and labelling containers.
• Organising inventory to assigned locations
• Conducting and accurately completing inventory stock checks
• General other warehousing duties and work where and when as required in the warehouse
• Receiving incoming goods, checking for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices
• Unloading vehicles, opening packages and removing contents
• Operating computers to obtain details of location and quantity of items in stock
• Operating equipment to lift, place and remove goods on high levels

Skills and experience for the role:

• Attention to detail / accuracy
• Physical fitness: able to lift heavy weights
• Good communication skills
• Adaptive and learner nature. Able to use technology
• Free from drug and criminal history
• Able to provide sound references
• Health & Safety conscious
• Ability to work rostered shifts, including the evening and weekend shifts
• Previous relevant experience preferable but not necessary
• Class one New Zealand or overseas equivalent license

Minimum 30 hours a week
