DealX Trading Limited is not only a furniture distribution company, but also undertakes residential and commercial flooring installation projects throughout the Wellington region.

Due to the increasing demand for our flooring installation services and growing workload, we are now looking for two skilled Floor Finishers to join our team.



To Apply for this position, you must have the following:

two years relevant experience or a level 4 or above relevant qualification

must be able to work over the weekend if needed

work individually without supervision

Job Description:

  • Inspect and prepare floor surfaces before installation, including cleaning, levelling and carrying out necessary surface preparation.

  • Measure floor areas and calculate the quantities of flooring materials required for each project.

  • Measure, mark and cut flooring materials to the required sizes and shapes according to floor layouts and specifications.

  • Lay and install different types of flooring materials, including timber, laminate, vinyl and other flooring products.

  • Fit flooring materials accurately around walls, corners, doorways, fixtures and other obstacles.

  • Apply adhesives, underlays and other required materials to properly secure flooring.

  • Install trims, edging, skirting and other finishing components where required.

  • Sand, smooth and finish floor surfaces to achieve the required appearance and quality.

  • Inspect completed flooring work, identify defects or imperfections, and carry out necessary repairs or adjustments.

  • Read and follow plans, measurements, product specifications and installation requirements.

  • Ensure all flooring installation work meets required quality standards and customer expectations.

  • Use and maintain flooring installation tools, equipment and materials safely and appropriately.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and comply with workplace health and safety requirements.

  • Work with other team members and contractors to ensure flooring projects are completed efficiently and within required timeframes.

Details of employment

Full time employment with 30 - 50 hours per week

Long term and stable employment in Wellington

Fair pay from $28 - $35 depending on skills and experience
