Hours: 30 to 35 hours per week
Pay rate: $24.95 – $29.00 per hour

About the role

Dawn Media Express Limited is seeking a reliable and responsible Delivery Driver to join our team in Auckland. The successful applicant will be responsible for the safe, timely and efficient delivery of newspapers, publications, parcels and other items to customers and designated delivery locations.

This is a hands-on role requiring good driving skills, reliability, time management and a strong focus on customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Collect newspapers, publications, parcels and other items from the designated dispatch location.

  • Load and secure items safely in the delivery vehicle.

  • Plan and follow assigned delivery routes efficiently.

  • Deliver items to customers and designated locations accurately and within the required timeframes.

  • Check delivery details and ensure the correct items are delivered to the correct locations.

  • Handle delivered items carefully to prevent damage.

  • Obtain delivery confirmation where required.

  • Communicate courteously and professionally with customers.

  • Report any delivery issues, delays, damaged items or incorrect addresses to management.

  • Carry out basic daily checks of the delivery vehicle and report any maintenance or safety issues.

  • Comply with New Zealand road rules, company procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.

  • Maintain accurate delivery records and complete other reasonable duties directly associated with the delivery function.

Skills and experience

The successful applicant will ideally have:

  • A full New Zealand Class 1 driver's licence or an equivalent licence recognised in New Zealand.

  • Previous driving or delivery experience is preferred.

  • Good knowledge of Auckland roads and local areas.

  • Good time-management and organisational skills.

  • Ability to follow delivery schedules and instructions accurately.

  • Good communication and customer-service skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • A reliable, punctual and responsible approach to work.

  • Good attention to detail.

  • Ability to safely lift and carry delivery items.
