Drainlayer

Location: Auckland, New Zealand
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week, up to 50 hours
Pay Rate: $29.96 – $35.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and repair stormwater and wastewater drainage systems.

• Lay and connect drainage pipes, fittings and related components.

• Read and follow drainage plans, site drawings and specifications.

• Excavate trenches and prepare ground for drainage installation.

• Set levels and gradients for drainage pipes using appropriate equipment.

• Install manholes, gully traps, inspection points and other drainage structures.

• Connect drainage systems to existing services where required.

• Backfill and compact trenches after completing drainage work.

• Use hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely.

• Carry out drainage work in accordance with project specifications, building requirements and health and safety procedures.

• Work closely with other construction workers, supervisors and subcontractors on site.

• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience working as a Drainlayer or in drainage construction.

• Good knowledge of drainage installation methods and construction practices.

• Ability to work safely and efficiently as part of a team.

• Good physical fitness and ability to work outdoors and undertake manual work.

• Reliable, punctual and responsible attitude.
