We are now looking for a caring and motivated Early Childhood Teacher to join our team.
About the Role
As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will work collaboratively with our teaching team to provide high-quality education and care for tamariki in a safe, inclusive and engaging environment.
You will be responsible for supporting children's learning and development through responsive teaching, purposeful play, observation and meaningful interactions.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high-quality education and care for children in accordance with Te Whāriki
- Planning and facilitating engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences
- Supporting children's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development
- Observing children's interests, strengths and learning progress
- Preparing learning stories, observations and other learning documentation
- Creating opportunities for child-led, play-based and hands-on learning
- Building warm, respectful and trusting relationships with tamariki
- Establishing positive and professional relationships with parents and whānau
- Supporting children's routines, transitions and daily care needs
- Providing positive behaviour guidance in a calm and respectful manner
- Creating and maintaining safe, stimulating and well-organised learning environments
- Respecting and supporting children's individual backgrounds, cultures and identities
- Incorporating bicultural practice and appropriate use of te reo Māori and tikanga Māori
- Participating in curriculum planning, team discussions and reflective practice
- Working collaboratively with other teachers and centre management
- Maintaining appropriate health, safety and safeguarding standards
- Participating in ongoing professional learning and development

About You
We are looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about early childhood education and enjoys building meaningful relationships with children and families.
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education or Teaching
- New Zealand teacher registration and a current Practising Certificate, or eligibility to obtain one
- A sound understanding of Te Whāriki
- Knowledge of child-centred and play-based teaching practice
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A warm, patient and respectful approach when working with children
- Good observation, assessment and learning documentation skills
- An understanding of culturally responsive and inclusive teaching practice
- The ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative teaching team
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- A commitment to children's safety, wellbeing and positive development
- A willingness to engage in ongoing professional learning and reflective practice
