Restaurant Supervisor

Avani Queenstown Hotel is looking for an enthusiastic and service-driven Restaurant Supervisor to join our team on a full-time basis.

As a valued team member, you will oversee and support the food & beverage team to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences by:

  • Serving food and beverages to guests in a within the hotel and restaurant, ensuring professional and attentive service.
  • Leads, motivates, and coaches the Food & Beverage team to deliver consistent service standards.
  • Monitors service quality and ensuring consistency across all shifts and service periods.
  • Manages guest enquiries and resolves service issues promptly and professionally.
  • Supports inventory management, stock control, and day-to-day Food & Beverage operations.
  • Works closely with management to maintain high-quality service and efficient daily operations.

Shift Details (subject to change):

  • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts
  • Rotating roster across Monday through Sunday
  • Split shifts may be required on some days

Expected minimum hours: 30 hours per week

Location: 327/343 Frankton Road, Queenstown 9300, New Zealand

Hourly range: $29 - $32NZD per hour. (excluding contributions to KiwiSaver). Payment of wages will be processed on a fortnightly basis by direct credit to your nominated bank account.

Annual salary approximate: $45,240 - $49,920 (excluding contributions to KiwiSaver).

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 1 year of directly relevant hands-on experience in a food and beverage or restaurant supervision environment
  • Solid understanding of alcohol (preferred but not essential)
  • Proven supervisory or leadership experience in a food and beverage environment
  • Strong understanding of hospitality operations and high-quality service delivery
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Professional presentation and the ability to lead by example
  • Reliability and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
