Travel Consultant – Reservations & Ticketing

Key Responsibilities

• Handle international flight enquiries via phone, WhatsApp and email.
• Search, compare and recommend international flight options using Amadeus GDS.
• Create, update and manage Passenger Name Records (PNRs).
• Prepare accurate quotations, including fares, baggage allowances, fare conditions and applicable restrictions.
• Assist with ticket issuance, reissues, refunds and cancellations.
• Explain airline fare rules, ticket conditions and travel requirements to customers.
• Process and manage date changes and airline schedule changes.
• Carefully verify passenger names, travel dates, passport details and other booking information.
• Liaise with airlines, consolidators, GDS providers and internal teams when required.
• Maintain accurate customer, booking and transaction records.
• Follow up on customer enquiries and outstanding bookings.
• Provide professional and responsive customer service throughout the booking process.
• Work towards individual and company sales targets.

Skills & Requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

• Basic or working knowledge of Amadeus GDS.
• An understanding of international flight reservations and ticketing.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Good computer skills and confidence using online systems.
• A willingness to learn airline rules, fare conditions, ticketing procedures and sales techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under time pressure.
• Ability to work during weekends.
• A professional, positive and customer-focused approach.

Education & Experience

Applicants may be considered if they meet any of the following criteria:

• Qualification in Travel & Tourism, Hospitality, Aviation, Business or a related field.
• Completed an Amadeus, GDS, IATA, Travel or Tourism course.
• Practical experience in a travel agency, airline, reservations or ticketing environment.
• Previous experience in the travel industry, even without a formal qualification.
• Relevant customer-service or sales experience combined with an interest in developing a career in travel.

Preferred Skills

The following would be an advantage:

• Knowledge of BSP, NDC bookings or airline reservation portals.
• Experience with refunds, reissues and airline schedule changes.
• Experience dealing with customers through WhatsApp, email and telephone.
• Previous sales or customer-service experience.
• Knowledge of international airlines, destinations and fare structures.
