We are a well-established fast food establishment located in Waitakere City, Auckland, New Zealand, specializing in delivering quality kebabs and other fast food options. We are looking for a skilled Fast Food Cook with at least one year of experience to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of food preparation techniques, kitchen safety standards, and a passion for creating delicious meals in a high-volume setting.

 

Culinary Preparation & Cooking

  • Prepare and cook a variety of fast food items, including kebabs, salads, and sides.
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards.
  • Monitor cooking times and temperatures to guarantee food safety and quality.
  • Assist in developing new menu items based on seasonal ingredients and customer feedback.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cooking area throughout the shift.

Food Safety & Hygiene Compliance

  • Adhere to all food safety regulations and hygiene standards as per local laws.
  • Regularly check and record food temperatures to ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Properly store food items to prevent contamination and spoilage.
  • Participate in regular training sessions on food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and sanitized after use.

Team Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient meal service.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding food orders and special requests.
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety procedures.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment through teamwork and collaboration.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss menu changes and operational improvements.

Tools & Equipment

  • Proficient in using commercial kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, and ovens.
  • Familiar with food preparation tools including knives, cutting boards, and mixers.
  • Experience with inventory management systems for tracking stock levels.
  • Knowledge of safety equipment, including fire extinguishers and first aid kits.
  • Ability to operate dishwashing machines and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.

Salary Information

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $24 to $28, commensurate with experience and skill level.
