Jalu Ltd is looking for an experienced and passionate Cook who is familiar with Korean and Japanese gastronomy.

We are a small, lively bistro serving authentic yet contemporary Korean and Japanese cuisine with a European twist. Our menu features everything from Korean Fried Chicken to a curated selection of authentic Korean and Japanese foods and beverages.

Position Details:

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week

Wage: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour (negotiable based on experience and skills)

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

·           Cooking food quickly and efficiently

·           Preparing sauces and selecting ingredients

·           Creating new recipes and plan menus with other kitchen staff

·           Storing food and maintaining supplies

·           Monitoring and maintaining the levels of various stocks required

·           Ensuring safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen

·           Inspecting supplies, equipment, and work area to ensure conformance to established standards

·           Examining food items to ensure freshness and quality

·           Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment

·           Portioning food and plating dishes to restaurant standards

Key Experience & Skills We Are Looking For:

·           At least 2 years of relevant work experience, or a diploma in cookery

·           Good knowledge and work experience in preparing and cooking Korean and Japanese foods is a strong advantage

·           Sound knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices

·           Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively

·           Strong teamwork and communication skills
