Hospital Aides - Burwood Hospital

Older persons health wards provide assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for older people recovering from illness or surgery. We are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care that supports recovery, promotes independence, and enhances wellbeing.

A Hospital Aide is an integral part of our team of health professionals. We are looking for Hospital Aides who have excellent communication skills, and the ability to use their initiative. You will enjoy being busy and don't mind that the role can be at times physically demanding. You will be hard-working and enjoy working in a well-established team.

The role of a Hospital Aide varies from day to day and contribute to the unit is running smoothly and to its highest potential. This could mean performing a variety of tasks such as:

  • Basic patient care
  • Patient therapeutic observation
  • Cleaning and tidying the ward/house keeping
  • Assisting the nursing team with a variety of tasks on the ward
  • Ensuring that patients have the best experience possible

Skills and Experience

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to engage well
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Initiative and a proactive approach to work
  • Ideally experience as a Healthcare Assistant or similar
