Caregiver

We are seeking a Caregiver for PRASAD FAMILY FOUNDATION LIMITED T/A BRYLYN REST HOME in Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand. Brylyn Rest Home is looking for a compassionate and reliable Caregiver to join our team in Hamilton. This role is primarily focused on night shifts, including weekend coverage, ensuring our residents receive exceptional care and support around the clock. You will need to have experience of working in a rest home.

Brylyn is in a semi-rural location so you will need reliable transport, there is no public transport available. If you have a genuine passion for aged care and enjoy making a positive difference in the lives of elderly residents, we would love to hear from you.

This is full-time, permanent employment with a minimum of 30 hours a week and an hourly rate of NZ $25-30/- hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality personal care and support to residents in line with their individual care plans
• Assist residents with night-time routines, mobility, personal hygiene, and comfort
• Monitor resident well-being during night shifts and respond promptly to call bells
• Maintain accurate, clear care documentation and report any changes in resident health or behavior
• Ensure a safe, clean, and warm environment for all residents
• Support team members and communicate effectively with handovers between shifts

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Caregiver in an aged care or rest home environment is required
• Level 4 Health and Wellbeing Certificate is required.
• Strong communication and active listening skills
• A warm, empathetic, and patient approach toward elderly care
• Ability to work independently during night shifts as well as part of a close-knit team
• Reliability and flexibility to work scheduled night shifts and weekends
