CAI YUAN GUN GUN LTD located in Whangarei, is looking for two full-time PASTRYCOOKS to join our team.

As a pastrycook, you will be working a minimun of 30 hours per week on a roster. You will be responsible for:

Job Description:

  • Check that all equipment and work areas are clean and safe before starting work.
  • Make sure all ingredients are fresh and weigh them correctly for each recipe.
  • Make dough and pastry by kneading, mixing, cutting, shaping, and preparing bases for cheesecakes.
  • Watch oven and fridge temperatures, and check how the cakes look to decide when they’re ready.
  • Follow each step of the baking process – preparing, baking, cooling, cutting, and storing cakes and pastries.
  • Glaze and decorate cheesecakes and other sweets with cream, icing, or toppings.
  • Use kitchen machines to mix, shape dough, and cut biscuits or cake layers.
  • Clean and grease baking trays, cake tins, and tools after each use. 
  • Follow health and safety regulations
  • Any other duties required by the employer

About you:

  • Minimum two years of relevant experience required OR
  • NZQF Level 4 or above qualification.
  • Physically fit with a clear criminal record.
