Mixed Animal Veterinarian

Our client is seeking a versatile Mixed Animal Veterinarian to join a progressive rural practice offering both companion and production animal services. This role provides an excellent balance of clinical work, allowing you to develop skills across multiple areas while working within a supportive and experienced team.

The successful candidate will enjoy the diversity of mixed practice, combining clinic-based small animal work with on-farm large animal duties. This position is well suited to a veterinarian who values variety, enjoys problem-solving, and thrives in a collaborative environment.

In this position, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing consultations and treatment for companion animals in clinic
  • Supporting farm clients with herd health and livestock care
  • Performing routine surgeries and assisting with more complex procedures
  • Managing a varied caseload across both small and large animals
  • Working closely with the team to ensure smooth daily operations

Qualifications needed:

  • Eligible for veterinary registration in New Zealand
  • Experience or interest in mixed animal practice
  • Confidence in both clinical and field-based work
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Adaptability and willingness to manage a varied workload
