Health Care Assistant

We’re seeking qualified, compassionate and dependable Health Care Assistants to join our team in Raglan, a vibrant coastal town known for its stunning beaches and welcoming community.

In this role, you’ll provide personal care, daily support, and companionship to our residents, helping them live with dignity and comfort. If you’re kind-hearted, hardworking, and passionate about making a difference, we’d love to hear from you. Experience is a plus, but being qualified and having a caring attitude is what matters most.

Key responsibilities

• Assist residents to maintain optimal levels of independence
• Treat all residents and their families with respect, dignity and care, regardless of religious beliefs, disability or culture
• Use residents’ individual nursing care plans and progress notes to provide care, under the supervision of the Registered Nurses, Clinical Manager and Facility Manager
• Use safe techniques for manual handling, infection control and hygiene cares
• Prepare and serve food as required, meeting food service standards
• Operate domestic and medical equipment after training in its proper use
• Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others, and monitor and report environmental, equipment and hygiene issues
• Keep all information about residents, their families, staff and the business confidential
• Take part in the education programme, including compulsory annual updates, manual handling and fire training, and work toward Careerforce training modules
• Take part in the quality assurance programme and follow all policies and procedures

Requirements

• A Level 4 or higher qualification in healthcare & wellbeing, community care or social work or related
• or 3 years of relevant experience

Hours and pay

• Full-time, permanent
• Minimum guaranteed hours: 30 per week
• Hourly rate between: $28.25 – $29.66
