Cook

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Cook to join our team in Huntly, Waikato on a permanent, full-time basis.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen and takes pride in preparing quality meals while maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and presentation.

You will be guaranteed 30 hours per week rostered between 11:00 am to 09:30 pm, Monday to Sunday, depending on the business needs. We offer competitive wage between $26.00 - $31.00 per hour based on your skills and experience. 

Job Duties:

• Prepare and cook dishes in accordance with the menu, recipes and established preparation methods.

• Prepare ingredients by chopping, marinating, seasoning, measuring and portioning food items.

• Cook food using appropriate methods and equipment to ensure dishes meet quality and presentation standards.

• Monitor food quality, cooking times and portion sizes to maintain consistency.

• Ensure food is stored safely, labelled appropriately and rotated in accordance with food safety requirements.

• Monitor stock and assist with stock rotation.

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, cooking areas and equipment.

• Follow all applicable food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.

• Work collaboratively with other kitchen team members.

• Assist with other reasonable duties related to the Cook position as required.

Requirements:

• Some relevant work experience or relevant qualification in Cookery, Culinary etc.

• Good time management, communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.

• Commitment to food quality, hygiene and workplace safety.

• Availability to work rostered shifts, including weekends, as required by the business.
