Bakery Manager
You'll be responsible for:
l Plan, organise and control the daily retail operations of the bakery, ensuring efficient workflow and consistent customer service standards.
l Determine and review the retail product range, stock levels and presentation, including baked goods, hot food, sandwiches, coffee and other beverages.
l Coordinate with bakery production staff to ensure product availability meets customer demand and daily sales requirements.
l Develop and implement purchasing and marketing policies and retail pricing strategies, considering costs, profit margins and customer demand.
l Arrange purchasing of ingredients, beverages, packaging and other supplies, and liaise with suppliers regarding orders, pricing and deliveries.
l Plan and implement advertising and promotional activities to attract customers and increase sales.
l Oversee retail sales and customer service, ensuring staff provide appropriate product information and resolve customer complaints.
l Monitor inventory, stock turnover and wastage, and maintain accurate stock, sales and financial records.
l Prepare and manage operational budgets, monitor sales, expenses and product profitability, and implement cost-control measures.
l Manage staff selection, rostering, training, supervision and performance in consultation with the Business Director.
l Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements, including implementation of the bakery’s Food Control Plan.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
l A relevant qualification at Bachelor Level or above in hospitality management, management, Business administration or a related field
OR
l Minimum 5 years relevant work experience in café, restaurant or food service operations
l Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
l Financial literacy, including payroll and budget management.
l Knowledge of health and safety, and food hygiene standards.
l Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
l Must be physically fit and be able to clear police checks.
l Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends.
