About the Role

Local Heaven Limited operates a bar in Christchurch and is seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join its kitchen team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, maintaining food quality and presentation standards, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with the establishment’s menu and customer requirements.
• Prepare ingredients, including cutting, chopping, marinating and portioning food.
• Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, quality and presentation standards.
• Coordinate kitchen activities to ensure timely preparation and service of meals.
• Estimate food requirements and assist with ordering ingredients and kitchen supplies.
• Monitor food stock levels, check deliveries and ensure appropriate storage of ingredients.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and sanitation standards in accordance with applicable food safety requirements.
• Ensure kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
• Monitor portion sizes and minimise food wastage.
• Assist with menu development and recommend improvements to food offerings.
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen and front-of-house staff.
• Comply with workplace health and safety procedures.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant commercial kitchen experience is required.
• A relevant culinary qualification is desirable.
• Ability to prepare and cook a variety of dishes independently.
• Good understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen operations.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy hospitality environment.
• Good communication, teamwork and time-management skills.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.

Working Conditions

• Minimum 30 guaranteed hours per week.
• The role involves rostered shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

About the Role

Local Heaven Limited operates a bar in Christchurch and is looking for two enthusiastic and customer-focused Food and Beverage Attendants to join its hospitality team.

The successful applicants will be responsible for providing friendly and efficient customer service, taking food and beverage orders, serving customers, maintaining dining and service areas, and ensuring a positive customer experience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers, provide menus and assist them with food and beverage selections.
• Take customer orders accurately and communicate orders to kitchen and bar staff.
• Serve food and beverages to customers in a timely and professional manner.
• Prepare and arrange tables and customer service areas before service.
• Clear tables, remove used dishes and glassware, and maintain cleanliness throughout service.
• Respond to customer enquiries and provide information about menu items.
• Handle customer requests and resolve routine service issues professionally.
• Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems, process customer payments and handle cash and EFTPOS transactions.
• Refill beverages and maintain appropriate presentation of customer service areas.
• Assist with restocking beverages, glassware, cutlery and other service supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in dining and beverage service areas.
• Follow workplace health and safety, food safety and responsible host-service procedures.
• Work collaboratively with kitchen and other front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service operations.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

• Previous experience in hospitality, food service or customer service is preferred.
• A relevant hospitality qualification is desirable but not essential.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Ability to work in a busy hospitality environment.
• Good attention to detail and time-management skills.
• Basic understanding of food hygiene and workplace safety.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.

Working Conditions

• Two full-time positions are available.
• Minimum 30 guaranteed hours per week.
