Qiong Yu, T/A Yummy Takeaways and Harewa Seafood & Chinese Restaurant, has offered dine-in and takeaway food for many years in Harewa, near New Plymouth. We now need a restaurant manager to help us provide top-quality service to our customers. This is a full-time job with guaranteed hours of 30 hours per week.

The job involves the following tasks and duties: 

  • Coordinating the restaurant's overall operations.
  • Ensuring superior customer service.
  • Taking reservations and orders, and arranging functions.
  • Receiving customer feedback and making necessary improvements to restaurant operations.
  • Demonstrating a strong understanding of problem-handling to ensure smooth operations between the kitchen and restaurant.
  • To promote our restaurant in the Asian & Chinese market
  • Coordinating in planning menus and pricing
  • Selecting and training new staff.
  • Organizing staff rotation and supervising staff performance
  • Estimating consumption, controlling costs, and advising on budgeting
  • Managing stock levels and arranging supplies
  • Maintaining records of transactions
  • Maintaining a positive working environment
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing, hygiene, and health and safety legislation/guidelines

 

To qualify for the job, you need to have:

  • Diploma or above relevant qualification in a business field; or at least two years’ relevant work experience
  • You may be required to work during weekends and late at night
  • A can-do attitude and the ability to work under pressure, as our restaurant is extremely busy during peak hours.
  • You should also have good attention to detail to make sure everything that goes through your hands is thoroughly clean
