Location: Otago
Salary Range: $26–$30 per hour (depending on experience)
Minimum Guaranteed Hours: 30 hours per week

About the Role:

As Bar Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the bar, ensuring efficient and high-quality beverage service, managing stock and staff, and maintaining a fun, safe, and compliant environment. This role suits someone with a hands-on approach, great leadership skills, and a genuine passion for the hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage daily bar operations and service delivery

• Supervise bar staff and ensure high standards of customer service

• Oversee inventory management, ordering, and supplier relationships

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and liquor licensing requirements

• Respond to customer inquiries, feedback, and special requests

• Plan and coordinate bar promotions, events, and marketing initiatives

• Recruit, train, and mentor bar team members

• Monitor budgets, costs, and stock levels

• Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and operational performance

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum of two years’ relevant experience or a relevant hospitality/management qualification

• Strong leadership and customer service skills

• Ability to manage and support a team in a busy, fast-paced environment

• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
