Job Opportunity: Cooks Wanted at Railway Tavern, Rakaia

We are seeking two dedicated cooks to join our team at Railway Tavern in Rakaia. This role guarantees a minimum of 30 hours per week, with a pay rate between $25.00 - $28.00 per hour. You must be available to work according to the roster, including weekends and late evenings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain the daily food production to meet quality standards.

• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.

• Estimate daily production needs and ensure the quality of raw and cooked food.

• Maintain high standards in food production, preparation, and presentation.

• Follow proper procedures for food handling, storage, and sanitation.

• Be fully aware of menu items, recipes, and presentation techniques.

• Ensure hygiene, safety, and correct usage of kitchen equipment and utensils.

• Meet deadlines efficiently while maintaining quality.

• Regularly check food expiry dates and proper storage.

• Adhere to health codes and cleanliness standards.

• Ensure proper plating, portioning, and garnishing of dishes.

• Comply with all health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

• 6 months to 1 year of experience or a relevant qualification.

• Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment.
