We are seeking 2 skilled Indian & Tandoori cooks for a busy restaurant in Auckland. This is a full time employment position.

 

Job Duties:

 Prepare, season, and cook a variety of authentic Indian curries and tandoori dishes.
 Regulate cooking equipment temperatures and ensure food is cooked to perfection.
 Maintain food quality and presentation standards at all times.
 Prepare gravies, sauces, and traditional spice blends as per restaurant recipes.
 Store food items appropriately in refrigerators and freezers.
 Assist in stock management and reporting.
 Develop new recipes and enhance existing menu items.
 Ensure correct portioning, garnishing, and plating of dishes.
 Accommodate customer dietary requirements and special requests.
 Check the freshness of ingredients and maintain high hygiene standards.
 Ensure compliance with New Zealand food safety regulations.
 Train and supervise junior kitchen staff when required.

Candidate Requirements:

 Minimum 2 years of experience in Indian &  Tandoor cooking.
 Strong knowledge of Indian curries, tandoori dishes, and traditional cooking
techniques.
 Willing to work on weekends and public holidays.
 Flexibility to work within a 7-day a week operation including split shifts.

 Experience working in high-volume kitchens.
 Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
 Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
 Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
 High level of hygiene and cleanliness.

Job Benefits:
 30 hours per week, full-time and permanent position.
 Competitive pay rate of $26.00 - $29.00 per hour.
