We are seeking 2 skilled Indian & Tandoori cooks for a busy restaurant in Auckland. This is a full time employment position.
Job Duties:
Prepare, season, and cook a variety of authentic Indian curries and tandoori dishes.
Regulate cooking equipment temperatures and ensure food is cooked to perfection.
Maintain food quality and presentation standards at all times.
Prepare gravies, sauces, and traditional spice blends as per restaurant recipes.
Store food items appropriately in refrigerators and freezers.
Assist in stock management and reporting.
Develop new recipes and enhance existing menu items.
Ensure correct portioning, garnishing, and plating of dishes.
Accommodate customer dietary requirements and special requests.
Check the freshness of ingredients and maintain high hygiene standards.
Ensure compliance with New Zealand food safety regulations.
Train and supervise junior kitchen staff when required.
Candidate Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience in Indian & Tandoor cooking.
Strong knowledge of Indian curries, tandoori dishes, and traditional cooking
techniques.
Willing to work on weekends and public holidays.
Flexibility to work within a 7-day a week operation including split shifts.
Experience working in high-volume kitchens.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
High level of hygiene and cleanliness.
Job Benefits:
30 hours per week, full-time and permanent position.
Competitive pay rate of $26.00 - $29.00 per hour.
