We are looking for Assistant Motel manager for our motor lodge located in Christchurch. We are close to the city centre, and we are a busy, vibrant business, that prides itself on attention to detail. With a guarantee of minimum of 30 hours per week with competitive rates between $27.00 and $31.00 p/h depending on your skills. You will be working as per the roster hence flexibility is essential in this role.
Availability to work evenings and weekend shifts is essential.
The employee’s key responsibilities are:
- Assist the Motel Manager with strategic planning, projects and reporting
- Support the manager in the efficient and effective operation of the motel, helping to create a positive experience for guests while ensuring smooth internal processes
- Working to ensure the financial success of the motel & always looking to drive the business forward any opportunity
- Allocate tasks to team members, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standard and that guest needs are met promptly
- Leading, developing and inspiring the team to create exceptional guest experiences
- Provide assistance with front office operations, including guest check-ins, check-outs, and responding to guest inquiries or requests
- Sole responsibility and in charge of the hotel’s operations when managers are not on site
- Ensuring safety and security of guests and staff
- Managing and resolving guest complaints
Skills & Experience:
- at least 6 months of relevant experience or relevant qualification at level 4 and above
- Excel at customer service and problem solving
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Fluent in English; additional languages a bonus
· Be self-motivated with a professional and friendly manner
· Enjoy working as part of an energetic team
· Have attention to detail and be well presented
