Our Japanese cuisine restaurant-Kajiken which is based in Auckland is seeking a couple of Cooks to join our team. As a cook, you will be responsible for the preparation, cooking, and presentation of authentic Japanese dishes in a culinary setting. The role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for Japanese cuisine.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. prepare vegetables and othe ingredients under the direction of the chef
  2. Be solely responsible for the cleaning of both the inside the kitchen and outside eating area.
  3. Maintenance of dishes as required.
  4. Preparation of customer' s order.
  5. Following directions toward portion control cooking standards and wastage.
  6. Loads or unloads trucks picking up or delivering supplies and food.
  7. Following all hygiene and Health and Safety regulations within the kitchen.
  8. Any other duties the manager/chef may reasonably require.

 

Requirements:
      

  • At least two years of relevant work experience in the hospitality industry is required and understanding of food safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a clean and sanitary quality.
  • Excellent understanding of food hygiene guidelines.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work efficiently.
  • Passion for Japanese cuisine and dedication to delivering authentic dining experience to customers.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

On the job training will be provided.
