We are looking for experienced receptionists to join our team located in beautiful Lake Tekapo.

The role is responsible for providing a friendly, welcoming, and efficient service to all hotel guests, in line with the hotel's vision and values on customer satisfaction.

You are required to provide courteous response to guests requests, play a part in the general running of the front of house desk and help the Front Office Manager to maintain a smooth room booking service.

Your day-to-day tasks also include (but not limited to):

  • Answering calls promptly and correctly;
  • Greeting guests properly in person or on the phone;
  • Allocating rooms;
  • Making reservations for groups, FITs and walk-ins;
  • Knowledge of services provided by our hotel, services available for surrounding areas, Roomaster system, rooms rates, special rates and hotel room aspects;
  • Other routine tasks as per required by the team leader/manager.

For the right candidates, you need to demontrate:

  • At least 1-year experience as hotel receptionist, with knowledge of tourism in South Island, New Zealand
  • Friendly and welcoming approach with high standard of dress and presentation
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations or busy/stressful environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including pleasant phone manner
  • Team working skills and administrative skills
  • Ability to use email and booking systems
  • Ability to work early in the morning, over the weekends or during public holidays
  • Have your own means of transport to work for your shifts.
