We are looking for an Assistant Cook to join our Indian sweet shop in Auckland. You guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week with competitive rates between $25.00 and $29.00p/h depending on your skills. This work is fulltime work.

We are looking for an Assistant Cook to join our Indian restaurant in Auckland. You guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week with competitive rates between $25.00 and $29.00 p/h depending on your skills. You will be working as per the roster hence flexibility is essential in this role.

Track record of reliability and consistent performance essential.

The successful applicant will have great training and support from an experienced management team.

What you will be doing day-to-day:

  • gathering food ingredients in preparation for cooking and serving
  • qoring under the instructon of a cook / head chef, and assisting their needs
  • gathering pots and pans in preparation for cooking food ingredients
  • weighing and measuring ingredients
  • completing kitchen preparation for cooking / preparing food, and cleaning the kitchen at the end of one's shift
  • washing, peeling, cutting, slicing and dicing ingredients for cooking and serving
  • cutting and grinding meat, poultry and seafood in preparation for cooking
  • removing cooked food from ovens and food warmers
  • washing work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes and silverware
  • storing food supplies, equipment, utensils, dishes and silverware in refrigerators, cupboards, pantries and other storage areas

 

You will need

  • A strong work ethic
  • Some knowledge of cooking technicuqes and food perparation techniques would be preferred
  • The ability to be punctual and work as per a roster.
