Brooklands Elder Care Limited is looking for motivated Health Care Assistants who can work in a challenging environment for 30-40 hours each week. We are looking for applications with experience in this field to work in New Plymouth.

Job Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding patients.
  • Assist patients with mobility and daily living activities.
  • Monitor and record patients’ vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
  • Support the nursing and medical staff by carrying out instructions and maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients.
  • Help with the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring dietary needs are met.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
  • Assist in moving and transferring patients using proper lifting techniques.
  • Report any changes in patients’ conditions or needs to the nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience as a Health Care Assistant or in a similar role or NZQA level 4 qualification in Health care is required.
  • Compassionate, patient, and understanding nature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Accompanying aged and disabled persons during daily activities
  • Be culturally sensitive and able to engage with family
  • A relevant health care qualification (e.g., Certificate in Health and Wellbeing) is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is advantageous.

Working place, hours, Wages Level

  • Working in a nice place located in New Plymouth
  • Weekly Hours: You will be paid at actual hours however we guarantee minimum 30 hours and maximum 40 hours
  • Remuneration: Great market driven rates on experience, hour rate $26.16-$28.25
