Hostel Manager – Wellington CBD
Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 30 hours per week to 45 hours per week

ABOUT US
We're a vibrant, boutique-style hostel located in the heart of Wellington. Known for our warm
atmosphere and high guest ratings, we’re looking for a hands-on and experienced Hostel
Manager to lead our small but passionate team.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
• Managing daily hostel operations, including front desk, housekeeping and guest
services
• Leading and training staff to maintain high service standards
• Overseeing bookings, pricing tools (e.g. Room Price Genie) and PMS systems like Little
Hotelier
• Analysing revenue performance and applying dynamic pricing strategies
• Coordinating with suppliers and contractors to support smooth operations
• Ensuring compliance with safety and operational regulations
• Responding to guest feedback and driving continuous improvements
• Supporting digital marketing and visual content for social media and events
• Aligning daily practices with long-term business goals
• Working on-call and weekend shifts as needed
• Applying sustainable practices in daily operations to reduce waste, improve efficiency,
and support environmental goals.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must have a valid New Zealand work visa or a NZ PR/Citizen
• Must have 3 years of verifiable work experience in managing accommodation operations
in New Zealand or a Level 4/5 Diploma in Hospitality or Management
• Availability to work weekends and on-call shifts
• Excellent communication skills
• Hands-on, proactive attitude and strong attention to detail

• Great people skills – both guest-facing and team leadership
