Make a Bigger Impact, After Hours

We’re looking for a confident, clinically skilled Senior Registered Nurse ready to lead from the front. As a Clinical Nurse Advisor, you’ll be the go-to clinician during after-hours shifts, managing critical incidents, mentoring junior staff, and supporting safe patient outcomes across high-acuity surgical wards.

This is a rare opportunity to take on a visible, high-responsibility leadership role, where your experience truly makes a difference—all while avoiding the daily chaos of typical ward hours.

Why You’ll Love This Role
True Work-Life Balance – Fixed night & PM shifts. No rotating days, no burnout.
Flexible Contract Options – Choose permanent or a fixed 12-month term that works for your lifestyle.
Autonomy & Influence – Lead operations across two flagship private hospitals during evenings, nights, and weekends.
Diverse Surgical Exposure – Work across a range of complex specialties including ICU, HDU, Neurosurgery, Plastics, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, and more.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Respond to clinical emergencies, manage deterioration, and ensure escalation pathways are followed
  • Provide bedside support and clinical coaching to nurses across wards
  • Lead hospital operations after hours and weekends, ensuring safe staffing and patient care continuity
  • Liaise with internal bureau teams to manage bed allocation and casual staff
  • Act as the clinical lead in the absence of daytime management – trusted, visible, and decisive
What We’re Looking For
  • Registered Nurse with current NZ APC
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a hospital acute care or critical care setting (ICU, ED, HDU)
  • MUST HAVE NEW ZEALAND NURSING EXPERIENCE
  • Clinical confidence and leadership in high-pressure environments
  • Skilled in phlebotomy, ECGs, cannulation, catheterisation
  • ACLS certification – essential
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
Step Into a Role That Respects Your Skill and Your Schedule This is more than just a shift – it’s a chance to lead, mentor, and influence the delivery of care at one of New Zealand’s most respected private hospitals.
