About this role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Perioperative Services Manager to take charge of the perioperative department at a leading private hospital in Canberra.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a cohesive, high-functioning theatre team in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment—with no weekends or after-hours work required.

As the Perioperative Services Manager, you will oversee all aspects of surgical services, including Operating Theatres, Anaesthetics, PACU, Pre-admission, and CSSD.

You will work closely with medical staff, department leaders, and executive management to ensure smooth clinical operations, high patient satisfaction, and exceptional care delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across the entire perioperative service
  • Lead and inspire a strong, supportive multidisciplinary surgical team
  • Manage theatre scheduling, staff resources, equipment, and budgets
  • Foster a culture of clinical excellence, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Support workforce planning, development, and retention strategies
  • Liaise with surgeons, anaesthetists, and clinical stakeholders to optimise theatre flow
  • Drive accreditation, compliance, and clinical governance initiatives

YOU'LL NEED:
  • AHPRA Registration

  • Eligibility to Work in Australia: Full working rights are required. Visas are not supported by the employer at this time.

  • Minimum 3 Years of Recent Experience in this role: Your extensive experience as a will allow you to bring confidence, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of ophthalmic procedures to the team

  • Outstanding Communication & Interpersonal Skills: You excel at staying calm, clear, and focused in high-pressure environments, ensuring seamless communication within the team and with patients.

  • Commitment to Exceptional Patient Care: You are dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care, ensuring every patient feels valued and well-supported throughout their treatment.
