About the role
Carejobz are recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Cardiac Sonographer to join our dynamic team.

In this role, you will perform and report on transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) and assist with transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE) and other advanced echocardiographic procedures.

You will provide essential diagnostic support across both inpatient and outpatient services, including acute care areas such as the Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and operating theatres. Additionally, you will play a vital role in delivering satellite echocardiography clinics to our regional communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform and report on a full range of echocardiographic examinations, including TTE, TOE, and stress echocardiography.
  • Complete preliminary reports using the Cardiology/Echo reporting system.
  • Identify, assess, and report on cardiac pathologies with a high level of accuracy.
  • Conduct mobile and bedside echocardiography when required.
  • Assist in complex interventional procedures in the operating theatre and cardiac catheter lab, such as:
    • Percutaneous valve replacement
    • PFO, ASD, and VSD closure procedures
    • Balloon valvuloplasty
  • Participate in the on-call after-hours service to support urgent patient needs.
  • Perform echocardiography services at satellite clinics to improve accessibility for regional patients.

About you
  • Be registered as a sonographer with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologist Board (MRTB) with a current practicing certificate;OR
  • Have an appropriate qualification for cardiac sonography acceptable for registration as a sonographer with the New Zealand MRTB
  • Must be eligible to work in New Zealand
