We are looking for 3 dedicated bakers for our bustling cafe based in Merivale, Christchurch. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week. This is a full time and permanent position. You will need to work according to the roster, including weekends so availability to work during weekends is essential. 

Your tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the cleanliness of the bakery equipment and premise.
  • Baking required daily levels of bread, rolls and other bakery products.
  • Properly checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients. preparing pastry fillings and minimizing wastage.
  • Baking, icing, and decorating bakeries for customer orders as well as for display.
  • Producing other bakery specific products as required i.e. scones, muffins, biscuits, pies, sausage rolls, etc.
  • Receive inwards goods ensuring products meet Food Safety requirements.
  • Monitoring oven temperatures, operating baking machine and coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of relevant experience or a relevant Level 4 qualification is preferred.

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and reference check from previous employer.
