reliable and committed? Does that sound like you? We are looking to recruit a Duty Manager for the Royal Tavern in Waimate.

Job duties for a Duty manager may include:

·      Ensure a professional relationship with the kitchen and Front of House is maintained, to ensure the overall business operates smoothly.

·      Planning and supervising bar and function services

·      Organise functions for customers, including communicating with all relevant parties to ensure all requirements of the customers and the business are met.

·      Training, recruitment and supervising the new staff.

·      Handling general cash, eftpos and credit card handling, and till reconciliation.

·      Handle customer complaints and deal with them in a professional and friendly manner.

·      Ensure host obligations (under the sale of liquor act) are conveyed to all restaurant staff & practiced

·      Ensuring exceptional FOH service to customers

·      Checking Stock levels & ordering supplies.

·      Maintaining a high standard of quality control, hygiene, and adhere to health & safety standards.

·      Lead by example and motivate the staff members on shift.

·      Communicate with the guests about any changes to the menus, wine list and venue.

·      Maintain good host responsibility.

·      Address employee complaints or performance issues as needed

·      Check in with employees regularly to determine satisfaction

·      Address customer issues and complaints

·      Supervising security arrangements and property maintenance

·      Schedule regular maintenance and cleaning of facilities like toilets, ensure fireplaces running and firewood restocked



Ideal candidates for the Duty Manager should have:

·      At least 2 years of relevant Experience or a relevant Diploma qualification

·      Working at weekends and split shift work is required.

·      Flexibility to work as per the roster, weekends, and public holidays.

·      Able to pass criminal history and drug test if required.

·      Excellent communication and personal skills

·      Manager’s certificate

Minimum 30 hours of work per week
