EDSL Nguyen Limited, established in June 2024, specializes in operating an Asian fusion restaurant under the trading name November Eatery Long Bay, located in Long Bay, Auckland. Our restaurant offers a delightful Vietnamese-inspired menu with all-day dining designed to satisfy guests' taste buds. We are seeking skilled and passionate Bakers to join our team. If you have experience in baking and a love for authentic Vietnamese cuisine, we want to hear from you.
What we offer:
Full-time permanent roles - 30 minimum guaranteed work hour per week
The rate of pay or salary: $24.00/hr - $27.00/hr before tax depending on depending on backgrounds and experience
Key responsibilities and tasks
- Prepare and bake a variety of traditional Vietnamese breads and pastries, including banh mi rolls, sweet and savory buns, and seasonal specialties
- Ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all baked goods
- Follow authentic Vietnamese baking methods and adapt recipes when required
- Monitor baking processes, including proofing, mixing, shaping, and baking
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the bakery and kitchen area
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and finished products to preserve freshness and avoid waste
- Assist in the development and testing of new bakery items for the menu
- Manage daily baking schedules to meet customer demand and restaurant service times
- Coordinate with kitchen staff and front-of-house to ensure availability of baked goods throughout the day
- Maintain and clean baking equipment and report any faults or maintenance needs
- Keep accurate records of production, inventory, and wastage
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a baker, preferably with familiarity in Vietnamese baking techniques and recipes.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Be able to work confidently and independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Knowledge of prevailing regulations on Hygiene
- Available to work rostered shifts, especially early mornings (around 5am), as well as weekends and public holidays as required.
