Fijian Paradise Limited is a vibrant and growing hospitality business in Auckland, renowned for our authentic Fijian fusion cuisine. We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Kitchenhand to join our team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about food, eager to grow in the hospitality industry, and ready to contribute to a dynamic kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Chop, peel, and cut vegetables and herbs used in curries, Chinese food, and other dishes.
•    Grind fresh spices or assist in preparing sauces as directed by the chef.
•    Assist in roti making.
•    Fill the food warmer.
•    Portion rice, curries, salad and accompaniments during service.
•    Wash dishes, pots, pans, and cooking utensils efficiently.
•    Clean kitchen floors, surfaces, and equipment during and after shifts.
•    Receive, unpack, and store deliveries of fresh produce, spices, and other goods.
•    Maintain knives and kitchen tools by sharpening and cleaning regularly.
•    Remove kitchen waste, empty bins, and manage recycling in a hygienic manner.
•    Assist in basic cooking tasks such as stirring sauces, frying, and plating meals.
•    Comply with all kitchen hygiene and food safety regulations.
•    Help management with stock take and handling of stock to control waste.

What We’re Looking For:

•    At least 3 months of New Zealand-based kitchen experience (preferred)
•    Strong passion for the food and hospitality industry
•    Ability to communicate in Hindi or Fiji Hindi (preferred)
•    Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
•    A reliable team player with a positive attitude, attention to detail and a strong work ethic
