We’re Hiring: Restaurant Managers (3 Positions)
📍 Location: within Canterbury Region
📅 Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week
💰 Pay Rate: $28.00 – $34.00 per hour
We are currently looking for three dynamic and proactive Restaurant Managers to oversee operations at our busy Indian restaurants across the Canterbury region. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced individuals who thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment and are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations and performance of the restaurant
- Plan and analyze sales, budgets, and profitability
- Maintain accurate records for budgets, stock, and employees
- Monitor food stock levels and ensure consistent supply of fresh ingredients
- Gather and respond to customer feedback
- Enforce company policies and staff uniform standards
- Manage reservations, greet guests, and handle phone/in-person orders
- Ensure compliance with NZ food safety and hygiene regulations
- Collaborate with chefs to plan menus based on customer preferences
- Organize marketing activities, promotions, and weekly flyers
- Supervise, train, and schedule front- and back-of-house staff
- Handle purchasing, weekly ordering, and price goods within budget
- Check quality and presentation of incoming food deliveries
- Prepare sales and staff performance reports
- Manage end-of-day cash-up, reconciliation, and facility security
- Maintain stock of restaurant equipment and supplies
- Build strong relationships with both staff and customers
- Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs as needed
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A passion for food and a commitment to excellent service
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
- A friendly, energetic, and team-oriented personality
- At least 1 year of relevant experience, or a Level 4+ qualification in hospitality or management
- A current General Manager’s Certificate with LCQ (preferred but not essential)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays
