We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized individual to join our team as a Bar Operations Manager. You also will be a duty manager for working at the bar and need to hold a current New Zealand manager’s certificate.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating a range of operational activities to ensure a seamless experience for customers and guests. We have gaming lounge, TAB, pool table, darts and stream all major sport events. We run karaoke and live music events most nights of the week. This role is on an hourly rate basis and we are offering $30 p/h.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the on-duty licensed manager, ensuring compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 and other relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with the team to deliver an exceptional customer experience, addressing queries, feedback, and complaints.
- Organise and oversee bar activities, including events, sports, gaming, and entertainment.
- Ensure the safety and security of facilities, managing maintenance and reporting operational issues.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards in line with New Zealand regulations.
- Manage loyalty subscriptions, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
- Enforce compliance with gaming, liquor licensing, and safety laws.
- Promote a safe work environment by adhering to occupational health and safety standards.
- Train, support, and motivate team members, ensuring high service standards.
- Oversee stock control, ordering, inventory, and cash handling, including reconciliations and EFTPOS transactions.
- Work closely with security staff to ensure safety for both patrons and staff.
- Weekend and night shifts required as part of the role.
Requirements:
- Current Manager’s Certificate under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012.
- Minimum of 3 years' supervisory experience in hospitality.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
- In-depth knowledge of liquor licensing and responsible service practices.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand or ability to apply for an Accredited Employer Work Visa.
