We are looking for Indian Chef to work full-time at our busy restaurant in Kingsland, Auckland.

We offer Full-time employment with at least 32 hours per week (Monday to Sunday) on rostered hours, depending on your position. You will be responsible for the duties described below.

Minimum hourly rate (low salary range): $23.15
Maximum hourly rate (high salary range): $24.00


Position: CHEF

 Job Responsibilities:

  • estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
  • monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
  • discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
  • demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
  • preparing and cooking food
  • explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
  • may select and train staff
  • may freeze and preserve foods
  • chop, cut, prepare and clean foods for cooking
  • ensure that kitchen staff and their workspaces are clean, and maintain hygine standards.

Job requirements:

  • A relevant Bachelors qualification in cullinary arts
  • At least five years of hospitality experience
  • Experience in continental cooking preferred
  • Cafe / Restaurant experience required
