Breads of Europe has been proudly family owned and operated since October 2015. We are currently seeking a passionate Pastry Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing a wide range of pastries and baked goods and will demonstrate both creativity and consistency in their work. You will be responsible for producing high-quality baked products in a fast-paced environment while maintaining hygiene and food safety standards.

 

Responsibilities:

-              Prepare ingredients, including both fresh and dry goods

-              Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, breads, buns, cakes, tarts, and other desserts according to recipes

-              Operate baking equipment such as ovens, dough mixers and proofers

-              Weigh and measure ingredients accurately and mix doughs and batters to the correct consistency

-              Monitor baking processes, including temperature and baking times

-              Apply finishing touches such as glazing, icing, or decorating pastries

-              Ensure that the food meets the required standards

-              Follow food hygiene and workplace health and safety standards

-              Support other staff and work as part of the team

 

Relevant experience in a commercial kitchen or bakery setting is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will have strong organisational and time management skills, along with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and public holidays is required. You may occasionally be required to travel to different store locations within Christchurch, so the ability to travel as needed is essential.
