Cook

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes featured on The Village Café menu, including Indian-inspired meals, burgers, salads, and pasta.
• Assist in menu planning, food costing, and maintaining recipe documentation.
• Monitor food freshness, hygiene standards, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Manage inventory, place orders with suppliers, and resolve any quality or delivery issues.
• Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, demonstrating cooking techniques and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.
• Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to improve kitchen efficiency and support business growth.

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in any cookery role OR Cookery qualification or higher degree 
• Creativity and ability to develop new menu items.
• Strong time management and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Leadership and team coordination skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
