We are a busy Bakery in Owhata, Rotorua, currently looking for two or more hard-working Pastrycooks to join our bakery to prepare high quality food and follow health & safety regulations as well as our shop standards.
Our bakery is looking for people who can work full-time permanent positions with a guaranteed 30 hours per week and a maximum of 40 hours to work in Rotorua, Bay of Plenty roster between the hours of 4:30 am to 5 pm, Monday to Sunday. You will be required to work during weekends to meet the needs of the business operation hours.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Prepare and accurately measure all raw materials, ensuring quality and consistency of ingredients in line with production requirements
- Clean, inspect, and prepare baking equipment and premises before production, ensuring compliance with food safety and occupational health and safety standards
- Mix, knead, mould, cut, and shape dough and pastry products for a variety of baked goods
- Independently prepare pastry fillings and manage the full process of pastry production
- Monitor oven temperatures and appearance of baked goods, baking products in batches to ensure optimal quality and timing
- Glaze, finish, and decorate pastries, cakes, and sweet items using icing, cream, and other toppings
- Operate and maintain bakery machinery used for rolling, moulding, and cutting dough and biscuits
- Clean all baking equipment, grease trays, and ensure proper sanitisation and storage of all tools and materials at the end of each shift
Qualification/Work experience:
- Ideally prefer at least 3 years of relevant work experience as a baker/pastrycook/baker assistant, but we also consider applicant with at least 2 years of relevant work experience, or
- A level 4 qualification in Baking or Pastries
The pay would be from $25 / per hour to $35 / per hour depending on your skill level and work experience.
The successful candidate must be able to pass a drug test and have a clean criminal record.
