Affogato Café is seeking a dynamic Café Manager to lead our team and oversee the daily operations of our bustling cafe. As the Cafe Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, managing staff, maintaining inventory and upholding quality standards.
As part of the role, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards (but not limited to):
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement efficient operational procedures to maximise productivity and minimise waste.
• Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies, ingredients and equipment as needed and price goods according to budget.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with health regulations.
• Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
• Oversee the management of cash register transactions and balancing.
• Manage finances, including budgeting, cost control and revenue generation.
• Manage and deliver catering services for meetings and special requests, tailored to customer needs and within set timeframes.
• Liaise with customers to plan and execute catering orders, ensuring seamless service delivery for both regular and one-off events.
• Oversee the preparation and presentation of food and beverages to ensure consistency and quality.
• Hire, train, and supervise cafe staff, and create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage during peak hours.
• Ensure staff hours are accurately recorded on a daily basis.
• Ensure daily production minimises items becoming sold out and reduces wastage.
• Ensure display cabinets are kept full and aesthetically pleasing.
• Plan menus in consultation with the chef.
• Plan and organise special functions.
Qualification & Experience
• Three years of previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a cafe or restaurant setting or a relevant level 5 diploma or higher qualification.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays if required.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent time management skills to complete tasks within specified timeframes.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanour when interacting with clients and colleagues.

Pay and Benefits:
• Full time permanent employment.
• Minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed.
• Pay rate ranges between $28 - $32 per hour.
