Kaiapoi Aged Care Limited Partnership is looking for qualified health care asssitants to work in our resthome located in Dunedin. 

You will be paid at reasonal market rate between NZD26.16 to NZD28.25. Your weekly working hours will be minmum 30 hours and maximum 40 hours 

Job Requirements:

  • 2-3 years’ relevant experience as a Health Care Assistant or in a similar role or NZQA level 4 qualification in Health care is required.
  • Compassionate, patient, and understanding nature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
  • Accompanying aged and disabled persons during daily activities
  • Be culturally sensitive and able to engage with family
  • A relevant health care qualification (e.g., Certificate in Health and Wellbeing) is a plus.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is advantageous.

Job Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding patients.
  • Assist patients with mobility and daily living activities.
  • Monitor and record patients’ vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate.
  • Support the nursing and medical staff by carrying out instructions and maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients.
  • Help with the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring dietary needs are met.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
  • Assist in moving and transferring patients using proper lifting techniques.
  • Report any changes in patients’ conditions or needs to the nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities.
