Our rest home is seeking a compassionate and motivated Exercise Physiology Coordinator to join our resident wellness and mobility programs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine impact on the lives of older adults by promoting independence, health, and quality of life through tailored exercise interventions. 

This is a permanent full-time position and you are required to work at least 30 hours per week between Monday to Friday within the normal business operation hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development & Delivery
    • Design and deliver individual and group exercise programs suited to residents’ needs, medical conditions, and mobility levels.
    • Implement evidence-based interventions to improve strength, balance, cardiovascular health, and fall prevention.
    • Monitor progress and adjust programs as required.
  • Resident Support & Education
    • Conduct initial health and fitness assessments for new residents.
    • Provide education on healthy lifestyle practices, injury prevention, and chronic disease management.
    • Motivate and support residents to engage in active living.
  • Coordination & Management
    • Develop a schedule of exercise classes, rehabilitation sessions, and wellness activities.
    • Oversee exercise physiology assistants, physiotherapy aides, or volunteers as required.
    • Collaborate with allied health professionals (physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, GPs) to ensure holistic resident care.
  • Compliance & Reporting
    • Maintain accurate resident records, assessments, and progress notes.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
    • Provide program outcome reports and recommendations to management.

About You:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology (or equivalent)

  • Experience working with older adults, ideally in aged care or rehabilitation is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of chronic disease management, mobility support, and rehabilitation.

  • Excellent communication and motivational skills, with a resident-focused approach.

  • Organised, empathetic, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
