We are looking for 2 dedicated Chinese Cooks to join our restaurant in Temuka.

This is a full-time, permanent position with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.

You will need to work according to the roster, including weekends, so flexibility is essential.

Your tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese takeaway dishes (e.g., stir-fries, fried rice, noodles, and dumplings).

  • Inspect and ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients before use.

  • Measure, season, and cook food according to recipes and customer preferences.

  • Portion and plate dishes into takeaway containers, adding sauces and garnishes as needed.

  • Monitor and adjust cooking equipment (woks, fryers, steamers) for optimal performance.

  • Store ingredients and prepared food in temperature-controlled storage areas.

  • Maintain a clean and sanitised workstation, including utensils and cooking equipment.

  • Assist in inventory management and notify the manager when supplies are low.

  • Follow strict food safety, hygiene, and workplace regulations at all times.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of relevant experience or a relavant Level 4 qualification preferred.

  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet customer demand.

  • Physical stamina for standing, lifting, and handling kitchen equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality and safety.

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and provide references from previous employers.
